About

Ground Floor Gallery is committed to providing contemporary exhibitions with depth and relevance in multiple disciplines for a diverse audience with the intent to connect artists with other art professionals, community builders and potential buyers. We present artists with the opportunity to exhibit their work in an alternative gallery and collective artist community, which allows artists to take risks that are not generally supported by commercial galleries.

Ground Floor Gallery is currently accepting proposals for individual and group shows. We also have juried exhibitions and host shows curated by artists that occupy the studios.

Ground Floor Gallery supports our studio artists, as well as exhibiting artists, by providing creative space, professional exposure and exhibition experience.

Ground Floor Gallery is now located at 942 4th Ave South, on the left side of the one-way street traveling south, directly across from the historic Nashville City Cemetery. We have a bright yellow door in honor of the stripes that ran across our original gallery’s wooden floor in the 100-yr. old, non-functioning May’s Hosiery Mill, aka The Chestnut––a long-standing artists workspace. As charming as the old space was, our new space has a 400+ sq ft gallery with 12′ ceilings, modern day functions, and is still on the ground floor!

Ground Floor Gallery makes a perfect stopping point from the downtown galleries on the way to the Wedgewood/Houston Arts & Music event, most first Saturdays of the month.

Ground Floor Gallery is made possible by artists’ studio rentals, submission fees for juried exhibitions, discounted commissions from sales, and kind donations of any amount.
